Norichika Aoki (33) signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco Giants, from CBS Sports' Jon Heyman and Michael Hurcomb:

Heyman Tweet: aoki gets $4M with #SFgiants on 2015 deal plus performance bonuses.

Hurcomb update: [Aoki] will make $4 million, plus performance bonuses. He has a 2016 option, which includes a $700,000 buyout. The max Aoki can make on the deal is $12.5 million.

The Boston Red Sox avoided arbitration with Junichi Tazawa (28), from the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo:

... Tazawa agreed to a one-year deal worth $2.25 million.

Tazawa, 28, appeared in 71 games in 2014, the same number he pitched in in 2013. He earned $1.275 million last season.

The Toronto Blue Jays have re-signed Munenori Kawasaki (33) to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, from the Toronto Star's Brendan Kennedy:

... The Jays announced Friday they had signed the beloved, high-energy infielder to a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training.

... Kawasaki will head to spring training as the fifth or sixth man on the Jays' middle-infield depth chart, behind Jose Reyes, Maicer Izturis, Ryan Goins, minor-league prospect Devon Travis and perhaps Steve Tolleson.

General manager Alex Anthopoulos, who praised Kawasaki's character and likeability in the clubhouse, said since it's a minor-league deal there's really no downside. No promises were made to Kawasaki regarding playing time and he still has minor-league options, so if he happens to be called up he can be demoted again without being exposed to waivers.

Shunsuke Watanabe (38) and Yusuke Kajimoto (31) could return to the Lancaster Barnstormers this year. From Lancaster Online's Burt Wilson:

... In addition to Burnett, Hobson said Japanese players Yusuke Kajimoto and Shunsuke Watanabe both want to return. Kajimoto's grand slam at Somerset brought the Barnstormers back from the brink of elimination in the first round of the playoffs.

Watanabe, a sidearm pitcher, was 8-2 with a 3.37 ERA in 39 games for the Stormers last season. The right-hander will return to Lancaster if he does not get a job pitching in Mexico, where he played this winter.
