[12/6/2014] Rakuten Eagles sign Kam Mickolio

The Rakuten Eagles announced that they came to terms with Kam Mickolio (30). He was assigned the number 43. According to reports, the two sides agreed to a one-year deal worth an estimated 150 million yen.

The Eagles released the following statement from Mickolio:

My family and I are excited about joining the Rakuten Eagles' "family." I am looking forward to playing with the Tohoku fans by our side as we try for another championship.

[12/5/2014] Rakuten Eagles finalize deal with Zelous Wheeler

The Rakuten Eagles announced today that they agreed to terms with twenty-seven-year-old infielder Zelous Wheeler. He was assigned the uniform number 40. Nikkan Sports is reporting that the two sides agreed to a one-year deal worth an estimated fifty million yen.

The Eagles posted the following comment from Wheeler:

I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity. Playing in Japan with Rakuten will be a new challenge and will mark the start of a new part of my baseball career. I am looking forward to playing in Japan and meeting the Rakuten fans. I will do my best to help the team win a championship.
