Chihiro Kaneko:

  • Kaneko watched Game 3 of the World Series. He showed up at the stadium wearing a hat and black-rimmed glasses. He watched the pre-game ceremonies and stayed until the end. He did not speak to the media.
  • If Kaneko gets posted, there is a good chance his agent in the United States will be Arn Tellem.

  • The Lions announced on Tuesday that Takeya Nakamura and Shogo Akiyama had surgery to clean out their right elbows at a hospital in Yokohama. Both players are not expected to miss spring camp next year. Source: Sponichi 10/21/2014

Nippon Ham Fighters

  • Naoki Miyanishi has a stress fracture in his left shin. He was taken off the active roster on September 30 with discomfort in his left shin. He was examined at a hospital, but never got the diagnosis because he thought it might put a damper on his motivation.   • There is a good chance Shohei Otani will see a large increase in salary.   • Okubo wants players to exercise proper manners -- he expects them to come to full stops when greeting others, particularly those older than them. Yu Darvish set the record with eleven strikeouts at twenty years and one month during the first game of the Second Stage of the 2006 Playoff.
