According to Sports Hochi, the Bay Stars will most likely part ways with Shinji Niinuma (33), Hiroyuki Fukuyama (23), and Naoyuki Shimizu (36).

• Niinuma became replaceable after Shuto Takajo's promising performances.  The team still thinks highly of the veteran and may offer him some sort of a position within the organization.
• The Bay Stars no longer feel Fukuyama has what it takes to be a pitcher and would rather see him become a position player.  They may bring him back next season if he agrees to a change in position.
• As mentioned yesterday, Shimizu no longer fits into the team's plans.

Sponichi is reporting that the Bay Stars will also part with Giancarlo Alvarado, Randy Ruiz, and Bobby Cramer.  Alex Ramirez will be in the second year of a two-year deal and both Brandon Mann and I-Cheng Wang will likely be given extensions.  Source: Sponichi 9/21/2012

The Yokohama Bay Stars announced today that they agreed to terms with Randy Ruiz (34).  No other details are known at this time.

The Rakuten Eagles announced that Randy Ruiz returned to the US (when isn't mentioned).  At this point, it seems he won't be returning to the team next year.

The Rakuten Eagles announced that Randy Ruiz and Darrell Rasner left for their respective homes out of Narita airport earlier today.  No word on when they'll return.

The Rakuten Eagles announced today that they will be signing Darrell Rasner, Juan Morillo, and Randy Ruiz to contract extensions for the 2011 season.  All three players apparently made it to the hold-over list (次年度契約保留選手名簿).

As reported yesterday, Randy Ruiz (RAK) was taken off the active roster so that he could return to the United States for a family matter.  A report today mentions that the Eagles are also interested in bringing Ruiz back for the 2011 season.  Seems they like the power he brings to the line-up (10 homers in 72 games / 253 ABs so far this year).
