===

Kazuhisa Makita (2nd round) on his 303-pitch (or 301-pitch, if you're reading Nikkan Sports) bullpen session yesterday:

I've thrown 300 pitches a few times before.  The coach stopped me today, but based on how I was feeling, I could have thrown more.

I wanted to see just how well I could revert to using my lower body once I got started getting tired.  I felt I could throw a little more.

Hideaki Wakui threw 21 pitches (all fastballs) to a squatting catcher during his bullpen session today.  It was the first time Wakui had the catcher sit during his spring camp bullpen sessions.  And assuming the weather holds up, Wakui is also scheduled to toss situational BP on the 13th.

Yoshihito Ishii is scheduled to meet with the Lions' front office for a third round of salary negotiations on the 22nd.  He told reporters yesterday that he was ready to wait thing out, if necessary.

Said Ishii, "I rather not have [negotiations] spill into the new year, and I did have a chance to tell them everything on my mind, now it's a question of how they react."

He then added, "In my 14 year pro, this was the first time I place an offer on hold.  I'd like for them to take that into consideration too."

Ishii also participated in a Christmas event for 220 adults and children with disabilities on Saturday.

===

Hideaki Wakui is apparently in the middle of move.

===

Shogo Saito took part in a baseball clinic for kids on Saturday that lasted about 2 hours.  Seems Saito has received a number of offers to attend clinics this winter and still has about 3 more to go to.

===

Ryoma Nogami was a little disappointed that Team Darvish was going on a temporary break this year due to various issues like player injuries and Yu Darvish working through some private issues.

Said Kikuchi, "I didn't feel any pain or tightness [in my left shoulder] so I was careful not to throw to hard. ... I'd like to try and be ready for bullpen sessions in February."
