The swelling is going away and there's no pain.  I can actually throw the ball like this, and wanting to make it back as soon as possible is the way professionals think.  I'm not the type to wait until I'm completely healed, I like to do things as I heal," said Araki. Source: Tokyo Sports 6/24/2014 ... Nakahata spent about twenty minutes hitting 130 baseballs to Tony Blanco, Aarom Baldiris, Hitoshi Tamura, and Tatsuhiko Kinjo during workouts on Saturday.  He started off telling the foreign players to avoid diving after balls, but after a while, things started heating up (so much that he forgot he had surgery on his neck on January 8) and he shouted fielding drills would not end until he started seeing nice plays.

FYI: Nakahata was asked not to hit grounders during spring camp because the front office and training staff was concerned about injuries.

Kiyoshi Nakahata is planning to wear sunglasses during spring camp this year to keep the sunlight out of his eyes.  But there is also a secondary reason: he does not want players to know where he is looking during workouts.

Nakahata left the hotel at 8:30am on Saturday and spent about twenty minutes walking near the water.
