The starting rotation will likely include Daisuke Miura, Kentaro Takasaki, Enyelbert Soto, and Yuki Kuniyoshi. The final two spots are up for grabs. Possible candidates include Yasushi Kamiuchi, Kenji Tsuchiya, 2nd round draft pick Kazuki Mishima, 3rd round draft pick Shoichi Ino, and 5th round draft pick Tateki Abe.

Kentaro Takasaki is scheduled to start Saturday's game. Yuki Kuniyoshi will relieve Takasaki on Saturday since his start today was rained out.

There is a chance Alex Ramirez might be available as a pinch-hitter on opening day. Ramirez is currently at around forty percent without pain.

Taketoshi Goto visited a hospital in Yokohama today for an MRI and was diagnosed with some inflammation in his right biceps femoris muscle. Goto will remain with the Ichi-gun team as he makes his recovery.

The Yokohama DeNA Bay Stars 2012 Official Year Magazine goes on sales March 26 for 1,200 yen.

Taketoshi Goto felt some pain in his right hamstring during pre-game practices on Thursday and was excused from the team. Nothing else has been reported.

Kiyoshi Nakahata figures will be installed at eighteen different train stations in the Yokohama area between March 27 and May 21.

Taketoshi Goto is the sixth person in the organization to catch the flu since the start of spring camp.

Norihiro Akahoshi gave Takehiro Ishikawa, Sho Aranami, and Takayuki Kajitani tips on how to steal bases on Friday.

Kiyoshi Nakahata told Kimiyasu Kudo he was more than welcome to watch games from the dugout, so long as he became a team advisor. The invite may not have been serious, but Kudo did tell reporters he was interested in doing what he could to help the team get better.
===
Nakahata does not plan to watch intra-squad games from within the dugout because he is not on either team and will instead catch the games from a more neutral area in the stadium. He also likes Aranami as a lead-off hitter.
During today's game, watched the game from a number of different locations, including the camera well in foul territory.
Nakahata also grabbed the mic and greeted fans during the team's lunch break today.

The players sang Nakahata's cheer song during their team run on Friday. Daisuke Miura, Yamamoto, and Hitoshi Fujie were the players the set the idea into motion.

Intra-squad games are expected to last six innings.

About 1,000 fans were in the stands on Friday. There were also about 1,000 fans in the stand today.

The Bay Stars announced today that Taketoshi Goto was diagnosed with influenza A earlier today.

Kimiyasu Kudo visited spring camp in Ginowan today and observed practices. He also had a chance to meet with Kiyoshi Nakahata, but not GM Shigeru Takada, who was also at Ginowan today.
===
Nakahata had to walk to the stadium on Thursday because the battery in the team car died. So the trip to the stadium that usually takes two minutes by car, took about twenty-two minutes by foot. And along the way, he was surrounded by fans seeking photos and autographs.

Otsuka Tea Manufacturing Company in Kakegawa, Shizuoka sent the team some "Kiyoshi" tea on Thursday.

The Bay Stars stole just thirty-one bases last year. Nakahata would like the team to aim for at least 100 this year.

The team has been placing nets along the base paths so players can work on running the bases in somewhat realistic conditions without any worries about getting hit by baseballs.

Taketoshi Goto was excused from practices today because he was not feeling well. Yuki Yoshimura returned to practices today after missing a couple days because of a cold.

Kiyoshi Nakahata tried to give pitchers Shugo Fujii, Hiroshi Kobayashi, Yuki Kuniyoshi, Kentaro Takasaki, Hitoshi Fujie, and Yota Kosugi a fielding workout on Wednesday, but had trouble remembering their names and making good contact with the baseballs. The players, in turn, playfully jeered back at Nakahata.
Nakahata also spent some time giving Yoshitomo Tsutsugo hitting advice on Wednesday and later told reporters he did not mind if Tsutsugo forgot everything he said because it was important for players to understand and accept idea; nothing should be forced. He would, however, like Tsutsugo to smile a little more when he does well.

Taketoshi Goto worked out at the Yokosuka training facilities today for the first time since being traded to the Bay Stars. His workouts lasted about five hours.
Goto worked out with Kazuhiro Wada (CHU) this winter and was told that players should not prepare themselves for the season during spring camp, but to be prepared to play from the first day of spring camp.
Goto dropped about nine kilograms since last year.

Yuki Kuniyoshi threw 20 pitches (including curves) in the bullpen on Wednesday (squatting catcher). He told reporters that he was close to throwing at 100% and that he was feeling good.

When reporters asked Daisuke Miura what he thought of Kiyoshi Nakahata's plan to improve communication by leaving his door at the team hotel open during spring camp he replied, "I am worried about crime prevention." He then said, in a more serious tone, "Communication is important and it would be good to have a chance to talk about all kinds of things."

Nakahata is thinking about holding karaoke contests with players at the team hotel during spring camp.

The team is planning on increasing the number of seats for the media at both Ginowan Stadium and the team hotel. WiFi will also be available.

Curfew during spring camp: 11pm on nights when there are practices the following day and midnight on nights where there are no practices the next day. Nakahata does not plan to enforce these with an iron fist.

The Seibu Lions and Yokohama Bay Stars announced a trade today: the Lions will send 31-year-old INF Taketoshi Goto to the Bay Stars for 27-year-old C Shingo Takeyama.
UPDATE 11/25 @ 3:52pm - The Bay Stars held a press conference today to introduce Goto. He was also assigned the number 55 and signed for 17M yen (down 3M yen from last year).
UPDATE 12/2 @ 4:56pm - The Lions announced the addition of Takeyama today. He was also assigned the number 52.
