Chiba Lotte Marines: Yoshihisa Naruse diagnosed with contusion on lower leg

Yoshisa Naruse took a batted ball of his right leg in a game against Orix on Friday night.  He was examined at a hospital in Tokyo and diagnosed with a contusion on his lower right leg.  He was taken off the active roster today and will skip his next turn in the rotation.

Takumi Kobe was taken off the active roster after he was diagnosed with tonsillitis.

The Marines held a staff meeting at QVC Marine on Tuesday and decided that all four members of the 2011 draft class will be attending Ichi-gun camp.

The Marines announced on Tuesday that Norihiro Komada will be a special instructor during spring camp, between February 1 and February 9.

The Marines also announced on Tuesday that Takumi Kobe had surgery on his right hamate bone and will be out two months.  Kobe suffered the injury during his workouts in January.

Even though the average temperature in Sendai in March is 3.8 degrees Celsius, if Yoshihisa Naruse gets the opening day start against the Rakuten Eagles at Kleenex Stadium on March 30, he plans on wearing a short-sleeved shirt because he finds them easier to move around in.

1st round draft pick Takahiro Fujioka threw 45 pitches in the bullpen on Monday (standing catcher).

2nd round draft pick Yuhei Nakaushiro threw 36 pitches in the bullpen on Monday and told reporters that he was able to throw harder than his last session (70-80%).
