Tokyo Dome MVP and Tokyo Dome Special Rookie Award Winners

Shinnosuke Abe was selected as this year's Tokyo Dome MVP.  Over 63 games at the Dome, Abe batted .312 (58-for-186), hit 13 homers, and drove in 37 RBI.  Abe will receive a plaque and 3M yen.

The 2011 Tokyo Dome Special Rookie Award was give to 23-year-old Hirokazu Sawamura.  While Sawamura was only 5-6 at the Dome, he did post a 2.39 ERA / 1.05 WHIP over 94.1 innings of work.  Sawamura will get a plaque and 1M yen.


2010 Tokyo Dome MVP

Alex Ramirez was presented with the 2010 Tokyo Dome MVP award today (3M yen award).  Ramirez finished the year with a 83 hits, 63 RBI, 23 home runs, and a 331 batting average at Tokyo Dome this year.

Hisayoshi Chono was presented with the 2010 Special Rookie Award (1M yen award).  Chono batted .282 with 57 hits, 19 RBI, and 6 homers at Tokyo Dome.

Tokyo Dome MVP awarded to Sakamoto

Hayato Sakamoto was awarded with the Tokyo Dome MVP (plus a money prize of 3M yen) on Thursday.  The Tokyo Dome Honorable Mention (plus a 1M yen money prize) was given to Tetsuya Matsumoto.

Sakamoto is the younger player to win the award.
