Yuki Saito made an appearance at Waseda Setsuryo High School on Tuesday to give a speech in front of about 600 students.

Via Sanspo:

What did you learn in elementary school?

I studied more than baseball.  At Waseda Jitsugyo, practice lasted 2-3 hours so I ended up studying more.  It was more like making time for practice in between my studies.

Why did you pick Waseda?

I wanted to go to Waseda even before I started studying for the entrance exams.  Life after baseball is much longer, so I wanted to graduate from Waseda as a complete person.

How do you relax?

I like to go fishing.  I also enjoy shopping.

Any advice on how to balance studies with baseball?

If you work your body, you'll also work your brain.  If you do it that way, you'll naturally want to move your body and you'll also want to use your brain.  When I was studying for the entrance exams for Waseda, I'd study for 2 hours then take a break for practice and running, and then I'd go back to my studies.

What are you studying at university?

Right now, I'm studying economics.  When my baseball career ends, I'd like to get involved in politics.  It's one one of my dreams.
