Yomiuri Giants

  • Kentaro Nishimura (right thigh) pitched in a batting practice scrimmage on Sunday.  He faced three hitters a total ten times.  He threw thirty pitches, allowed two could be hits, and walked one.  He topped out at 145km/h.  It was his second scrimmage since his injury. Hiroshima Carp

  • Yuichi Hisamoto left Sunday's game with pain in his left elbow.  Kenjiro Nomura indicated to reporters that he was planning to take Hisamoto off the active roster.  He will be examined at a hospital. Source: Sports Hochi 6/29/2014, Nikkan Sports 6/29/2014

Chunichi Dragons

  • Ryosuke Hirata was examined at a hospital in Nagoya and diagnosed with an inversion sprain in his left ankle.  The Dragons have not released any information about how long much time Hirata might need for a full recovery. Source: Nikkan Sports 6/29/2014

Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Katsuya Kakunaka missed Saturday's game against Orix because of pain in his right shoulder.  He hurt the shoulder when he ran into the wall while playing defense on Friday.  He was examined at a hospital in Chiba and diagnosed with a bruise. The Hiroshima Carp held a press conference on Monday to announce the addition of Chunichi senryokugai Yuichi Hisamoto (33).  He was assigned the number sixty-five and signed a deal worth an estimated 10M yen plus incentives.  Source: official announcement, Sports Hochi 11/12/2012

The Carp also announced that they re-signed Mitsuhiro Nagakawa (25) and Kosuke Nakamura (21) to Ikusei contracts.  Source: Sponichi 11/12/2012

The Chunichi Dragons met with Kohei Oda (35) and submitted an offer for the 2013 season.  Oda placed his decision on hold.  He is scheduled to meet the team again on the 13th.  Source: Nikkan Sports 11/12/2012

The team did sign 2013 deals with a number players on Monday: Tatsuro Iwasaki (15.5M yen, down 2.5M yen), Akinobu Shimizu (11.5M yen, down 3.5M yen), and Ryoji Nakata (10M yen, down 1M yen).

Sang-Hoon Song will likely return next season as an Ikusei player.

The Dragons announced today that Motonobu Tanishige (41) he will not exercise his FA option and will remain with the Chunichi Dragons.  Source: Sponichi 11/9/2012

Sikorski gave up a run on one hit over two innings during an intra-squad outing today.  His fastball was consistently above 140km/h.  The Lions will likely make an announcement on Sikorski after he gets a physical.  Source: Nikkan Sports 11/9/2012

According to Daily Sports, the Dragons do not plan on signing Hiroki Kongo (33), Yuichi Hisamoto (33), and Shohei Takashima (22) to contracts for the 2013 season.  This is in addition to Masafumi Hirai (37), Takashi Ogasawara (35), and Maximo Nelson (30).  Source: Daily Sports 10/2/2012

Sponichi adds that Chunichi also does not plan on offering Hidenori Kuramoto (36) a contract for the 2013, but would like to hire him as a Ni-gun OF/base-running coach.  Hidenori would like to continue play.  Source: Sponichi 10/2/2012
